Shade names from top to bottom: Snowflake (pearly white), Lullaby (light champagne), Gold Metal (soft gold), Penny (warm copper), Brown Sugar (deep bronze), Ocean (cobalt blue), Dragon (emerald green), Sequins (plum purple), and Blackout (not technically metallic but included in the Neon Eyeliner collection).
Shockwave Metallic Eyeliner Collection Review
Vivid metallic eyeliners are hard to come by, especially at a “drugstore” price point. I don’t gravitate towards metallic eyeliner, so I wasn’t sure if I would like this collection.

The shades in this collection are mix of metallic colored eyeliners, and skintone like “nude” metallic shades. Each formula is a smooth gel, that glides on easy.
The good and the shocking!
One of my favorite things about these gel liners, is that they dont run or “bleed” and it don’t tug at the skin.
If you are looking for beautiful colored gel liners, the shades (x) will work perfect. Also, L.A. Girl offers a line of Neon Shockwave liners that are super vivid and highly rated.
The versatility of the nude and brown metallic shades are shocking.
They’re metallic enough to add interest to my eye looks.
The formula is smooth, and the shimmer isn’t chunky or “glittery” which I prefer in eye products.
My favorite way to use these shades are on my lower lash line and inner corner to brighten the eyes a bit.
How to sharpen L.A. Girl Gel Eyeliners
You can sharpen L.A. Girl gel eyeliners with any makeup pencil sharpener you have at home. The packaging is made with a soft plastic that is easy to sharpen after each use.
Are L.A. Girl eyeliners good?
L.A. Girl gel eyeliners are great quality at an affordable price. You can find lots of shades at drugstores like CVS, at popular stores like Target, Ulta Beauty, Amazon and more.
The eyeliners stay put all day (for me that’s 8+ hours) and don’t make my eyes watery or smudge throughout the day.
Overall, I am surprised at how much I reach for the Shockwave Metallic liners. Although I haven’t worn any shade for 16+ hours, they definitely do last a long time and pack a punch of vivid color.
Removal Tip: A makeup removing balm quickly removes all traces of these liners at night.

- You like more glitter, than shimmer
