Kosas Sephora Birthday Gift – Lip & Brow Birthday Set Review

I have to say, the Wet Lip Oil is really good! Smooth formula and comfortable on the lips, but I don’t feel ANY plumping effects.

The Air Brow is easy to use and sets the brows nicely, but you can get the same results from a drugstore brow product.

This set isn’t WOW’ing me like I thought it would

This birthday gift option is available for all Sephora Beauty Insider levels.

The duo set of gloss and brow gel is pretty “universal”, meaning they could work for you, a younger beauty lover, or someone just getting into makeup.

The “plumping” gloss is light and moisturizing, but doesn’t add a burning, hot or minty tingle to the lips.   

Actually, I don’t feel any plumping effects with this gloss at all!

The Airbrow is easy to use, and lightly holds the brows all day.

Although I like both products, and will continue to use them, they arent wow’ing me in the way I thought they would.

Popular drugstore brands (like Maybelline, ELF and Colourpop) have just as good, if not better options for tinted lip oils, glosses, and brow hold products.

BUT, Since this birthday gift option is “free” (for registered Sephora Beauty Insider members), it’s a great option for all beauty lovers.

 

There’s no plump in this gloss, but that may be a good thing

The Kosas Wet Lip Oil Plumping Treatment Gloss in Unbuttoned (a Soft Warm Blush) is a very thin product that feels lighter than a gloss but has more staying power than a regular lip oil.

I love the applicator and how it’s curved shape give you a fuller application.

The shade Unbuttoned isn’t as pigmented on the lips as it looks in the packaging, but you do get that soft warm blush color as Kosas describes.

The Wet Lip Oil (full size $22) lasts about three to four hours before fading, but doesn’t leave a tackiness or anything behind on the lips and blends well on top of lipstick.

It also gives a high shine reflective wet look to the lips, but I don’t feel any plumping at all. 

No burning plumping effect may be a good thing for some makeup lovers.

Plumping glosses aren’t for everyone, and sometimes they are INTENSE.

So, Kosas doesn’t deliver on the plumping effect but I do get a softening of the lip lines that I think most makeup lovers would like.

 

Hello? Is this Brow Gel on?

The Air Brow Clear + Clean Lifting Treatment Eyebrow Gel (full size $24) had me confused at first.

The brush doesn’t collect a lot of product, so you have to dip back into the container quite a bit, but it does work.

I couldn’t see the product as I brushed through my brows, but I followed my typical routine and after a few minutes I could tell my brows were in place. 

No crunchiness, or strong matte finish, just a very light hold that lasted all day.

Once I finish my makeup, I could tell that my brows were set in place and even after a full 8 to 10 hour day, my brows were still in place.

The only downside I see with Air Brow is that it does have a semi-shiny finish that never seems to go away.

I do like that this brow gel is very thin and light.

It works well with eyebrow pencils or eyebrow product underneath it, without smudging or taking off the finish of other products.

Overall it’s a good brow gel, and I continue to use it.

 

So is the Kosas Sephora Birthday Gift Set good?

If you’re looking for the Wet Lip Oil to be plumping, or the Air Brow gel to give you a strong laminated brow look, then you might be disappointed.

The Wet Lip Oil is thin, smoothing and glossy, but not as pigmented as it looks in the packaging with no plumping effects.

The Air Brow is so light that you can barely tell you’ve applied it, but it does give a long lasting hold.  No crunchiness, or flaking.

So, the Kosas Lip and Brow Birthday Set is a good option, the products are good but not without flaws.
