ToggleRhode dropped a new signature lip product — and it’s giving soft, blurred lips instead of the sharp liners we usually expect.
TL;DR on the Rhode Peptide Lip Shapes
If you’re expecting traditional lip liners, you’re gonna be confused — but if you want soft, easy lip color, they’re super cute.
- Not really lip liners — more like creamy lip crayons
- Super lightweight, balmy texture that glides on effortlessly
- Shades are soft and natural, but not super pigmented
- Not long-wearing
- Great for low-maintenance, everyday looks
Peptide Lip Shape Product Description:
The Rhode Peptide Lip Shapes ($24 – 11 shades) are described as “buildable lip liners that shape and enhance your natural lips.” But don’t expect your typical liner here — these feel more like creamy, lightweight lip crayons that give a soft, balmy kiss of color instead of a precise, ultra-defined look. Infused with peptides and conditioning ingredients, they’re designed to nourish while adding a little something-something to your lips.
Peptide Lip Shape Product Key Features:
- Balmy, crayon-like formula
- Soft-matte finish
- Infused with peptides for hydration
- Buildable, sheer-to-medium pigment
- Designed for a blurred, natural lip look
Rhode Peptide Lip Shape Review
Okay, let’s get into it — because Rhode calling these “lip shapes” was smart. If they had called these lip liners straight-up, I would’ve been mad.
These aren’t traditional lip liners at all. The texture is super creamy and cushiony — it glides on like butter and the result is more like a creamy lipstick or lip crayon.
The shades Balance, Lean, Stretch, and Flex all give that barely there but still cute look. They don’t fully sculpt your lips; they just add a natural tint and a little bit of soft shaping.
Balance is like your classic pinky nude, Lean gives warm peachy vibes, Stretch is a rich brown, and Flex is a deep brown that’s surprisingly wearable.
But listen — they wont last all day long. If you eat, drink, you’re gonna have to reapply. This became a big controversy on social media, but I don’t mind it considering that I re-apply my glossy lip balms all day anyway.
Plus, Rhode never marketed the lip shapes as long wearing or ultra pigmented.
Creamy Crayons or Lip Liners?
The whole “lip shape” branding is actually the most innovative part of this launch. It sets the vibe that these are supposed to be soft and flexible, not rigid and ultra-defined.
They give you a blurred lip effect — almost like your lips are naturally that pretty and plush. Very model-off-duty.
But yeah, you’re gonna be disappointed if you’re expecting pigment-packed, snatch-your-lips lip liners. They’re just not built for that life.
Are the Rhode Peptide Lip Shapes Worth It?
If you love a natural, cushy, blurred lip that feels comfy and hydrating? The Peptide Lip Shapes ($24) are adorable and you’ll probably reach for them all the time.
If you need your lip liners to do heavy lifting — you may be left disappointed.
It all depends on what you want your lip look to give.
