Product Review Logic

My product reviews are to give you a real life, non-professional opinion of new products at different price points.

I would love to have a big ole inventory of product reviews for you to check BEFORE dropping money on a product(s) that might not work for you. 

Plus, wouldn’t it be great to have product reviews all in one place, instead of checking Sephora, Ulta, Beautylish, etc.?!

This is how I score products; however I am NOT a professional and I created this logic based on what made sense to me.

Categories
I. True to Description
II. Pigmentation
III. Longevity
IV. Ease of Application
V. Likelihood of repurchasing

I. True to Description
How well the product lives up to its product description.
0= None of its claims
1-2= Only 1 of its claims
3-4= Only a few of its claims
5-6= Only about half of its claims
7-8= Most of its claims
9-10= All of its claims

II. Pigmentation
0= No pigmentation at all
1-2= Pigmentation goes away once blended
3-4= You have to really pile on the product to get pigmentation
5-6= Decent pigmentation or only some colors are pigmented
7-8= Good pigmentation/comparable to other brands of its price point
9-10= BAM! In your face mega pigmentation

III. Longevity
0= No longevity at all
1-2= Product disappears/worn off as soon as you are done with your face
3-4= Frequent touch ups throughout the day
5-6= Only 1-2 touch ups throughout the day
7-8= Product lasts most of the day (about 6-8hrs)
9-10= Product lasts ALL day (8+ hrs)

IV. Ease of Application
0= Ugh! Almost impossible to get product on/had to use multiple techniques to get product on.
1-2= Not easy, but still useable
3-4= Takes a lot of time to apply/blend
5-6= You have to work with the product a little
7-8= Pretty easy to apply/good
9-10= Super easy to apply/use

V. Likelihood of repurchasing
0= Hated it/returning the product
1-2= Not going to repurchase
3-4= Not likely to repurchase, but will use what you have left
5-6= Maybe you will repurchase
7-8= You will likely repurchase, good product to add to your collection
9-10= Holy Grail product, repurchasing/repurchased backups

Skincare Product Reviews
1-2= Save your money; not worth it
3-4= Do not recommend; not a good product
5-6= Decent product; you may like it, but it didn’t work for me
7-8= Recommend; good product, would repurchase
9-10= Highly Recommend; definitely worthy of repurchasing
*Skincare products receive one overall score

General notes:
• The score is determined by adding up the score from each category and averaging (divided by 5) to give the product a score out of 10.
• Please keep in mind that I created this rubric on what makes sense to me and I can guarantee that this rubric will change and evolve as time goes on
