Ole Henriksen Banana Bright+ Vitamin CC Eye Stick in Pumpkin Review

I have been on the search for a color corrector for a very long time, so I was excited to see that Ole Henriksen (a brand that I love) introduced a color correcting stick.

The Banana Bright+ CC Eye Stick ($34) comes in three “flexible” shade, but I chose to stick with a traditional “orange” color corrector shade for my deep skin tone.

Banana Bright+ CC Eye Stick formula and blendability

This color correcting stick is creamy and blendable and works really well under concealer.

The CC Eye Stick is hydrating, and I didn’t notice any additional creasing on application or throughout the day, which is hard to do even for most concealers!

In fact, I think the shade Pumpkin added coverage to the concealers that I placed on top.

If you have deep dark undereyes, this cc stick will cover your discoloration.

I’ve tested the cc stick in a light layer and heavier layer, both were easy to blend out with a concealer brush (like the Sephora Collection concealer brush) and still covered my dark undereyes.

I also tested the Banana Bright + CC Eye Stick on the hyperpigmentation around my mouth and it works well in that area too!

This product is really adaptable.  I’ve used brushes, fingers, and a sponge to blend and no matter what I use, the product blends into the skin without thinning.

The formula is smooth and I was able to layer other products like foundation, setting powder without any issues.

The Banana Bright+ Vitamin CC Eye Stick in Pumpkin is too orange

The Ole Henriksen Banana Bright+ Vitamin CC Eye Stick is easy to blend and definitely covers dark areas of the face.

However, for my undertone (neutral) the orange shade can be seen under my current favorite foundations (which are mostly medium coverage).

The shade pumpkin itself is a little bit too orange for my undertone, but it may work nicely for other dark skin tones.

I could try the second shade apricot, but I would rather use the shade Pumpkin and adjust my concealer shade to achieve the right shade and coverage for me.

It’s a great product, but it’s not amazing enough for me purchase an additional shade.

Can you wear the Banana Bright+ CC Stick in Pumpkin alone?

Before trying the Banana Bright+ CC Eye Stick, I watched a great demonstration of the product from the brand in collaboration with Sephora.

In that demo, the makeup artist was able to apply and blend the cc stick on the model without any additional makeup.

If the CC Eye Stick shade you choose, matches your skin-tone and undertone, you may be able to wear it alone (meaning without other complexion products like foundation).

However, the shade Pumpkin is very warm (orange) and I doubt many beauties will be able to wear the shade alone.

Is the Banana Bright+ Vitamin CC Eye Stick Worth it?

The Ole Henriksen Banana Bright+ CC Stick in Pumpkin is a great product.

It’s easy to blend, and medium to high coverage result will work for beauties looking to cover up dark circles (blue and purple dark circles).

I wish Ole Henriksen offered an additional shade that was deep, but maybe not as warm for darker skin tones to be able to use as a spot corrector.

I don’t see any considerable amount of brightening with this product under my eyes. The Banana Bright+ CC Stick ($34) is more as a color corrector than a brightener.

But I do enjoy the creamy formula, how easy it is to blend, and how well Banana Bright+ works with other makeup products (on top and underneath).

You will like this product if:

  •  You are looking for a creamy color corrector
  • You use color corrector with other makeup products (foundation, etc.)
  • You like to blend products in different ways (fingers, sponge, brush, etc.)

You may not like this product if:

  • You are looking for a cc stick to wear without foundation
  • You have a neutral or olive skin tone (for the Pumpkin shade)
