Alot of time and money has been put into the marketing of this mascara, but is it any good? Is it worth $26 when Drugstore mascara quality continues to improve?
Lancome is known for a few high quality, big impact mascaras. Many beauty lovers swear by the Monsieur Big Lash Mascara, and the Cils Booster XL Super-Enhancing Mascara Primer.

Lancome Lash Idole Mascara Mini Review
I’m already a fan of Lancome and their line of mascaras. The new Lash Idole, although beautifully marketed and packaged, didn’t excite me at first.
I tend to be suspicious of products that claim to do it all. A mascara that gives lift, volume, and lasts 24 hours?! That sounds like a holy grail product to me, if it can ACTUALLY do all that.
How do you use the Lancome Lash Idole Mascara?
Lancome recommends starting with their Cils Booster Revitalizing Lash Serum, then prep the lashes with their Cils Booster XL Eyelash Primer before adding the Lash Idole.
Application tips:
- Applying the Lash Idole Mascara in an upward swiping motion to the top lashes
- Next, apply the mascara in a downward swiping motion to the bottom lashes
- Repeat the process as layers to your desired look
Is the Lancome Lash Idole Mascara good?
This is a nice mascara. I decided to apply the product without a lash serum and primer, and still got great results on my medium length lashes.
The Lash Idole visibly lengthened my lashes and made them look fuller.
Lancome isn’t kidding, when they say the mascara is light weight. I almost forgot I had it on throughout the day.
The best part of this mascara is no flaking, no smudging and it looked really good all day (for me that’s about 8 hours).
Lash Idole is infused with White Tea extract to condition the lashes. I dont know if this ingredient will do more over time, but I noticed my lashes weren’t “crunchy” at the end of the day. Bonus benefit!
Also, the mascara easily washes away using my Makeup Eraser cloth (without any cleanser!).
So, Is the Lancome Lash Idole better than my drugstore mascara favorites?
No. I still think there’s a drugstore mascara dupe for almost all high end mascaras. Even this mascara has a few dupes in my opinion (listed below). However, if you prefer higher end brands or just love Lancome, its worth a try.

No, the Lash Idole Mascara is not waterproof. However, the product claims to be smudge free and last up to 24 hours.
