Affordable Body Mist Brands – The Best Ones Are Actually Cheap!

Affordable beauty has changed. There used to be a pretty clear line between a drugstore brand and everything else, but now some of my favorite affordable body mist brands are at Target, Walmart, Ulta Beauty and even their own standalone stores.

For me, an affordable body mist is generally under $20. And after testing fragrance mists from less than $10 to $40+, I’ve learned that you absolutely don’t have to spend luxury prices to smell good.

These are the affordable body mist brands I actually think are worth shopping.

 

Saltair – Best Affordable Body Mist Brand Overall

Saltair is my favorite affordable body mist brand right now. The fragrances have the complexity I expect from more expensive brands, with options for gourmand, floral, fresh, warm and skin-scent lovers.

I tested the Santal Bloom Fragrance Mist ($18 full size, $8.99 mini size) and loved the creamy sandalwood, ambery musk scent. It gave me around 5-6 hours of wear with good projection, which impressed me at this price point. Saltair also makes matching body washes, lotions and oils, so it’s easy to build a complete fragrance routine and get all day scent wear.

If you want an affordable body mist that feels more expensive than it is, Saltair would be my first stop.

Fine’ry – Best Luxury-Inspired Body Mist Brand

If you love expensive fragrances but not expensive prices, Fine’ry makes some of my favorite luxury-inspired body mists.

I’ve tried Fine’ry since the brand launched, and they’re really good at capturing the overall scent and vibe of popular luxury fragrances without giving me that cheap, alcohol smell. I tested the She’s a Goodie Body Mist ($14.99), inspired by Carolina Herrera’s Good Girl, and got half a days’ wear from it alone.

Fine’ry also makes eau de parfums in many of the same scents if you want something to layer with their mists.  If you want a body mist that gives you the feel of a much more expensive fragrance, Fine’ry is one of the first brands I’d check.

Bodycology – Best Body Mists Under $10

Bodycology proved to me that cheap body mists don’t automatically smell cheap.

The Bodycology Luxe collection ($5.97) includes fragrances inspired by popular luxury perfumes, and many of the body mists are around $6. I tested Are You Fleur Real?, which is inspired by the Chloé Eau de Parfum. I was genuinely surprised by how close and expensive it smelled for the price.

The fragrance mist only lasted until lunch time, but for $6? I’ll take it. If you want to experiment with new scents or grab an inexpensive fragrance for yourself or as a gift, Bodycology is worth checking out.

Being Frenshe – Best Brand for Fragrance Layering

Being Frenshe is a good option if you care just as much about the full body-care experience as the fragrance mist itself. The brand offers scents across body washes, lotions, oils, body mists and other products, making it easy to layer one fragrance from shower to final spray.

I tested Cashmere Vanilla ($9.99 mini, $16.99 full size), a warm, cozy vanilla with amber, musk and cedarwood. The mist itself was light on projection but this is a brand I’d shop for the complete routine rather than the fragrance mist alone.  If you like softer scents and want matching products you can layer together, Being Frenshe is one to try.

Bath & Body Works – Biggest Body Mist Selection

We can’t talk about affordable body mists without Bath & Body Works.

Between seasonal collections, gourmand scents, fresh fragrances, perfume-inspired releases and those nostalgic favorites we’ve been wearing forever, there really is something for everyone at B&BW. The regular prices have gone up over the years, but there are so many sales that you’ll rarely pay full price.

Bath & Body Works is still my benchmark for an affordable fragrance mist: good scent quality, plenty of variety and frequent deals. If you’re not sure what scent profile you want yet, this is probably the easiest place to start smelling around.

Here’s the Thing

Affordable doesn’t have to mean eight hours of wear. At under $20, I’m happy with a body mist that smells good, projects well and gives me around half a day of fragrance.

What I don’t want is a mist that immediately smells like alcohol or reminds me more of a household cleaner than a fragrance. Luckily, brands like Saltair, Fine’ry, Bodycology, Being Frenshe and Bath & Body Works all give you different ways to smell good for an affordable price!
