Sephora Sun Safety Kit Review 2026: 20 Years Later, Is It Really Worth It?!

Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2026 Review - Is It Worth It

The Sephora Sun Safety Kit is Sephora’s yearly sunscreen favorites set. For 2026, the kit costs $39 USD (value $218 USD) and includes 14 SPF mini and full size products from brands like Glow Recipe, Tatcha, Ultra Violette, Kiehl’s, Dermalogica, and more.

If you’ve searched “Sephora Sun Safety Kit Reddit” or “Sephora Sun Safety Kit review,” you’re not alone. People want real reviews from someone who actually wore the products, not just a list of what’s included. So, I tested every sunscreen in the kit and took notes on texture, finish, white cast, makeup wear, and overall performance.

Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2026 Price, Value and Whats Included

Is the Sephora Sun Safety Kit Worth It?

Short answer: maybe.

If you’ve never purchased a Sun Safety Kit before, this is one of the cheapest ways to try a variety of sunscreen formulas before committing to full sizes. My biggest complaint is that 40% of the sunscreens left a noticeable white cast on my skin. Still, there were enough great formulas in the kit to make the $39 price worth it.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Dew Shield SPF 30 Review

This chemical sunscreen has a thin fluid texture and gives the skin a healthy glow without feeling greasy. It stayed comfortable on my combination-oily skin and never became heavy throughout the day. The watermelon scent is noticeable, so fragrance-sensitive users should keep that in mind. This is Glow Recipe’s best sunscreen formula yet.

Beauty of Joseon Day Dew SPF 50 Review

Beauty of Joseon Day Dew SPF 50 Review from the Sephora Sun Safety Kit 2026 reviewed by Nubelease. SPF sunscreen product included in the annual Sephora sunscreen value set.

This sunscreen feels more like a skincare serum than a traditional SPF. It applies very glowy at first but settles down as it absorbs into the skin. If you’re looking for all day glow, this will fall short because it settles down to a natural finish after an hour or so. The formula is lightweight, hydrating, and never sticky. I still prefer the brand’s Matte Sun Stick, but this is a solid option.

This was one of the biggest surprises in the kit. It feels like a lightweight moisturizer and sat beautifully under makeup without adding extra shine. My skin stayed balanced throughout the day and never felt greasy. If you have combination, normal, or acne-prone skin, this is worth trying.

Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum SPF 50+ Review

Rating: Must-Have

Buy it: Kiehl’s Better Screen UV Serum SPF 50+

This is one of my favorite sunscreens on the market right now. The formula is thin, hydrating, and feels like skincare rather than sunscreen. It layers beautifully with makeup and works just as well on no-makeup days. I’ve already finished a full bottle and continue to repurchase it.

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50 Review

Rating: Must-Have

This feels like a luxury moisturizer with SPF added in. The texture is rich and hydrating without becoming greasy or heavy. It wears beautifully throughout the day and gives the skin a healthy finish. The only downside is the luxury price tag.

Innisfree Daily UV Defense SPF 50+ Review

This gel sunscreen looks very glowy when first applied but most of that glow fades as it absorbs. Later in the day, some of the radiance returns, especially around my T-zone. I prefer using this on skincare-only days rather than under makeup. It’s a nice formula, just not one of my favorites in the kit.

ISDIN Fusion Water Magic SPF 40 Review

This was one of the biggest discoveries in the kit for me. The texture is incredibly lightweight and sinks into the skin almost instantly with no white cast. My skin stayed hydrated without becoming oily throughout the day. If you want a sunscreen that feels like nothing on the skin, this is it.

Peter Thomas Roth Water Drench SPF 45 Review

This has always been one of my favorite sunscreen-moisturizer hybrids. The texture feels like a lightweight gel moisturizer and never becomes greasy throughout the day. It absorbs quickly and works well under makeup. While I no longer support the brand, the formula itself performs beautifully.

Ultra Violette Future Screen SPF 50 Review

Yes, it has a white cast. However, it was also my favorite mineral sunscreen in the kit. The formula helped control oil, worked beautifully under makeup, and kept my skin looking even throughout the day. I just wouldn’t recommend wearing it alone on deeper skin tones.

Ultra Violette Sheen Screen SPF 50 Lip Balm in Bejeweled Review

Rating: Great. This SPF lip balm doesn’t feel like sunscreen at all. It adds hydration, a glossy finish, and a hint of color without any sunscreen taste or smell. My lips stayed comfortable even after the shine wore off. This was one of the best additions to the yearly Sephora Sun Safety Kit.

Tatcha The Silk Sunscreen SPF 50 Review

This sunscreen has a smooth, primer-like finish that looks beautiful under makeup. It helped create an even base and never made my foundation look patchy. The formula itself is excellent. Unfortunately, the white cast keeps it from being a universal recommendation.

Tower 28 SOS FaceGuard SPF 30 Review

The biggest issue here is the white cast. Even with the slight peach tint, the formula still looked gray on my skin. The finish eventually settles down and looks natural, but the cast was obvious from the start. It’s not a bad product, but it wasn’t a standout for me.

Biossance Squalane + Daily Mineral SPF 50 Review

Rating: Great

Buy it: Biossance Squalane + Daily Mineral SPF 50

This was one of the best-performing mineral sunscreens in the kit. It gave my skin a smooth, hydrated finish and worked extremely well under makeup. The formula feels lightweight and comfortable throughout the day. The white cast is the only thing holding it back from being a top Sephora sunscreen kit favorite.

Lancôme UV Expert Defense SPF 50+ Review

This feels like luxury skincare with SPF added in. The texture is lightweight, smooth, and easy to wear under makeup. By the end of the day, my skin still looked healthy and balanced. Unfortunately, the noticeable white cast keeps me from recommending it to everyone.

Here’s the Thing

The Sephora Sun Safety Kit is a fun way to explore new sunscreen brands without paying full-size prices. Not every formula worked for me, but I discovered several standouts that earned a permanent spot in my routine. If you’ve been curious about the kit, I think this year’s version might be worth the $39 price tag.
